Jelani founded Empowering Mentorships in March 2020 to provide young men of color with the tools necessary for empowered, purpose driven lives. Jelani’s educational and professional background are perfectly tailored for building a meaningful and long-lasting mentorship program and has over 10 years of experience working with minority male youth. During those 10 years, he was able to identify gaps in the education system that often snag and hinder young men of color. The central focus of Empowering Mentorships is to fill those gaps by teaching financial literacy, career skills, and develop soft and technical skills, just to name a few.
